Much like many businesses around the world, the tragic events of the global pandemic has changed and shaped our working lives in many ways….. this is our story at Applied Software.
From the beginning of the pandemic the focus at ASE was clear to us even before lockdown was made, the office workers to start working from our own homes to stay safe and protect everyone during the fight against Covid 19. For the staff already working from home this was already their existing routines so we knew we could still all work together and stay safe and isolated during the early days of the outbreak.
Like many of us around the UK staying safe at home during this time was of high importance; this has been a real challenge to everyone. With the modern technology and tools at our disposal this has helped us as a software house to continue to work well productively and also keep in close contact within the team of engineers we have here. For many of us at ASE we were so use to working from the office that this was a major change to our daily routines, having been accustomed to that office lifestyle then adapting to home working has been a fantastic experience. For some the days coming to work on the bus, in the car or walking to work in all kinds of weather has now changed. Adapting to your home office can be difficult at first, although the daily commutes to our work place is now a lot closer than before. Working times are still flexible, and become even more crucial when we are able to stay longer for meeting those tight deadlines. We all agree that we miss those daily routines of office life and most importantly the social bond that makes us a great engineering team.
ASE thrives because of its social community and monthly group meetings that are fundamental for the growth of our company. During lockdown we have all adapted to online meetings to setup face to face group meetings daily, getting everyone together to discuss projects and issues has now become of great emphasis and we all enjoy this as part of our home working routines.
Its important during these difficult times everyone stays safe and has great support around them. Take Care.
